Relaxation or Deep Tissue Massage What’s the difference?
Massage is a safe approach that manipulates soft tissue (skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments) through manual stimulation using various massage techniques.
- PURPOSE – Deep tissue focuses on relieving chronic muscle tension, and pain. Relaxation doesn’t focus on specific issues, reduces stress, overall calming experience.
- PRESSURE – Deep tissue involves firm pressure. Relaxation uses a lighter, more superficial touch.
- TECHNIQUES – Deep tissue includes trigger-point and myofascial release. Relaxation involves flowing and rhythmic movements.
- AREA OF FOCUS – Deep tissue concentrates on problem areas where the client experiences discomfort or pain. Relaxation covers the entire body with no specific problem areas.
Other Types of Massage We Offer
Hot Stone Massage
Smooth Stones are warmed and used as an extension to the therapists hands or placed on the body. The warm heat from the stones relaxes and warms the muscles for easier manipulation. Please see our Host Stone Massage page for more details.
Microcurrent Point Stimulation
Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) uses the Dolphin Neurostim device to apply gentle microcurrent to specific points on the body, effectively treating scars from surgeries like C-sections, appendectomies, and tummy tucks.
Cupping/Fascial Release
Cupping, which uses suction cups to pull on the skin and increase circulation, is a highly effective method for targeting fascia in massage therapy. Techniques include static and dynamic cupping, and while the suction may leave marks resembling bruises, these are not true bruises.
Thai Massage
Thai massage uses hands, elbows, knees, and feet to apply pressure, stretching, and yoga-like movements. Patients are fully clothed during the treatment. Thai massage improves flexibility, relieves tension, boosts circulation, and promotes relaxation, balance, and overall well-being
Oncology Massage
Oncology massage is adapted for people with cancer using a light touch and slow, steady movements, working with the central nervous system to help the body relax.
Aromatherapy
Our aromatherapy service uses essential oils to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. By customizing blends to meet individual needs, we create a soothing experience that supports both physical and emotional health.
Rapid NeuroFascial Reset Therapy
Is a quick, effective therapy targeting the nervous system and fascia to relieve pain, tension, and restricted movement. Using precise pressure, it restores mobility and breaks adhesions. Sessions last 15-30 minutes, with clients fully clothed and no oils or lotions used. Treatments may be uncomfortable as the nervous system is stimulated to restore normal function, offering fast relief for issues like frozen shoulder, sciatica, and migraines.
